• A rustic, small town with a quaint downtown (Not many shops, supermarkets or restaurants in town. Older demographic, younger families moving in.) 

• There are plenty of volunteer options in town. From local businesses like The Art School at Old Church to associations such as Demarest Athletic Association, you can sign up to help the community, while also dabbling in something you enjoy.

• Demarest Library - Free public library with a large selection of books and weekly activities for toddlers and kids. 
• Demarest Garden Club - Members are able to share their interests in gardening and conservation through meetings, flower shows, and workshops. 
• The Art School at Old Church - Join a creative community of art enthusiasts who encourage each other to make things and find their true passion. Courses for both adults and children specializing in basketry, calligraphy, ceramics, jewelry and more. A full schedule of classes, workshops and gallery exhibitions. There are also opportunities to volunteer! 
• Healthy Community Planning - Directory developed by NJ Departments of Health & Environmental Protection to assist in local community planning. Environmental data to help promote a healthy and safe environment.

• Demarest Deli - Fantastic local deli with a large variety of sandwiches with fast service and fresh food.
• Yasou Mykonos - A Greek restaurant well known for their Mediterranean classics, with outdoor seating and a relaxed space.

• Demarest Athletic Association - Get moving by joining Demarest Athletics. This nonprofit organizes youth sports such as baseball, soccer and basketball for residents ranging from as young as kindergartners to eighth graders. 


• Demarest Nature Center - Nature and abundant wildlife center with clear pathways and bridges. Lovely for a nice walk during all seasons.
• Davies Arboretum & Wildlife Preserve - An excellent area for nature walks and wildlife sightings sitting on 18 acres of preservation in the heart of Demarest.
