Originally settled by the Dutch, Westwood, the "HUB OF PASCACK VALLEY," is exemplified by the quaint architecture that is embodied in its vintage homes, neo-classic train station and Victorian gazebo located on the town green. The areas largest downtown shopping district is comprised of specialty shops and boutiques that offer an excellent alternative to near-by regional shopping malls. Unique to this area is the Pascack Valley Hospital, a comprehensive medical facility together with many supporting professional and medical complexes. Residents are provided with numerous social and athletic opportunities at the town's parks, tennis courts and swimming pool. During the summer months, residents gather on the town green for concerts and other highly anticipated cultural events. The Pascack Valley Art Association sponsors the annual Art in the Park exhibit where fine art work can be purchased.
