Originally settled by the Dutch, the architectural style of these early settlers is evident in the beautiful homes of Hillsdale. The West Hill, a newer executive area, offers a spectacular view of New York City. One of the largest towns of the Pascack Valley, Hillsdale offers its residents a diverse shopping area located in the center of town.
Home to regional Pascack Valley High School, Pascack has a fine educational system that includes public and private schools. A host of recreational activities, ball fields, picnic areas and a band shell that features open air concerts, are located in Beechwood Park. Community events include the annual Fireman's Pancake Breakfast and Hillsdale Day, a family oriented game and picnic festival. Each fall, a local farm opens its orchards for apple and pumpkin picking and highlights the event with old-fashioned hay rides. Hillsdale is easily accessible to New York City via car, bus and rail service.
